"Google Is Verifying Your Number for Chat Features"
Fixes and Options
Google Messages verifies your phone number before turning on RCS chat features. If verification gets stuck, the problem is usually the carrier, the SIM or the network — not your settings.
RCS is tied to the SIM in your device, so a virtual number from an SMS activation service won't enable chat features. It only helps if you need a separate number to receive codes.
