01 / Basics

What a Virtual Phone Service Is

A virtual phone service gives you a phone number that works online, with no SIM card. Some services are built for calls. Others are built for the text messages an app sends when you make a profile. Name is this second kind of virtual phone number service. Every number here is a real phone number. When a message comes to it, the number's page shows the sender, the app name, the code and the time.

02 / Free + paid

Free and Paid Numbers on One Site

FREE · PUBLIC

The free numbers are open to everyone. Everyone can see a number's page and what came in, so they suit trials, games and messengers.

PAID · PRIVATE

Some apps reject free numbers. For those, order a paid disposable phone number. It is on a real SIM, only you see the SMS, and it gets one code for one app. If no code comes, the full amount goes back to your balance.

Try free first, and pay only if the app says no.

03 / Pick a number

Choose a Number by Country or by App

Go by country when the app is only for one country, such as a food delivery app. Go by app when it is global, such as a messenger.

By country numbers online
By app codes this week

You can find a free online number in two ways: by country or by app. See all countries grouped by region on the online mobile numbers page. The SMS activation service page has every app you can get an OTP for.

04 / How it works

Four Steps to Your First Code

{{ s.n }} {{ s.text }}

If no code comes after a couple of minutes, try another number instead of asking for a new code. New numbers are added every day.

05 / Checklist

What to Check in a Virtual Number Provider

Before you trust any virtual number service, check that it shows these things for each number:

[✓] {{ r.lead }} {{ r.text }}

Name shows all of this on every number page. That makes it the best virtual number service to try first, because it is free.

06 / Developers

For Programmers and AI Assistants

The random mobile number tool picks a working number for you at random. Programmers can pull the same numbers and messages as JSON from the virtual number API. An AI assistant can sign up and wait for a code through the OTP MCP server. You don't need a key for the API or the MCP server.

Online Mobile Numbers by Country

Get a free online mobile number for an SMS code in the country you need. Each country page lists its numbers, the messages each one received and the apps behind them. The full list by region is below.

01 / Basics

What an Online Mobile Number Is

An online mobile number is a number from a mobile network whose texts you read on a web page. You don't need a phone with that country's SIM card, and you don't need to be in that country. Apps treat it as a normal mobile number, because it is one. The only difference is where the message shows up: on the number's page on Name, not on a handset.

02 / Top countries

Most Popular Countries

Country Numbers online Added in 7 days App with most codes {{ r.cc }}{{ r.name }} {{ r.online }} +{{ r.added }} {{ r.app }}

These numbers change all the time. Some numbers stop working, and fresh numbers are added every day. A country with many numbers added in the last 7 days is worth trying first.

03 / US + UK

US Mobile Number and UK Mobile Number

Many American apps ask for an American mobile number, and many British stores and services ask for a United Kingdom mobile number. Their numbers often have many messages. Go for a number with few messages, or a number added today. If two in a row get no code, try Canada or Ireland.

04 / Regions A

Mobile Numbers Across the Americas and Europe

Europe is the biggest group, with 39 countries. The Americas cover North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Select any name to see that country's numbers.

05 / Regions B

Mobile Numbers Across Asia, Africa and Oceania

Africa is the largest group here, with 34 countries. Asia is split into three groups, and Oceania covers Australia, New Zealand and two island nations. Each name opens its own page.

{{ g.name }}{{ g.count }} countries
06 / Travel

Numbers for Travel and Moving Abroad

A foreign number helps before a trip or a move. Some ride, rental and ticket apps ask for a local number. You can make the profile at home, days before you fly, without buying a SIM at the airport. Pick the trip's country and sign up. For an account you will keep, add your email and an authenticator app.

07 / Country page

What Each Country Page Shows

A country page lists its numbers. For each number you can check:

{{ r.n }}{{ r.text }}

Used numbers are marked as used. Nothing new reaches them, but their old messages are still there to read.

08 / Match

Matching the Country to the App

Use the country you plan to use the app in. Local apps, for example stores and rental apps, often check this. Apps used all over the world often work with any country, so take one with lots of new numbers. A number from a smaller country often has fewer messages. When you need a private virtual mobile number, order a paid disposable mobile number in the country the app expects.

SMS Activation Service With Free Numbers

Use this free SMS activation service to get an SMS code for any app. Find the app, look at the numbers that got its codes lately and use one of those numbers for your sign-up. The code appears on the number's page.

01 / Last 24 h

App Codes in 24 hours Last code {{ r.letter }}{{ r.name }} {{ r.codes }} {{ r.last }}

If an app's most recent code is only minutes old, free numbers still work for it. If its last code is many hours old, free numbers may not work for it right now. Then a paid disposable phone number is the quicker choice.

02 / OTP

What OTP Verification Is

OTP stands for one-time password. It is a short code that shows the phone number is yours. OTP verification is the step where you enter that code back into the app. The code is good for one use. Once it has been entered, or once its time is up, it no longer works. An OTP number is the phone number that receives the code. Any online number on Name can be your OTP number.

03 / Cases

Where Apps Ask for an OTP

{{ r.lead }} {{ r.text }}

Free public numbers fit the first case. For the others, use a number that only you control.

04 / Lifetime

How Long an OTP Code Lasts

Most apps give you only a few minutes to enter the code. With many apps, a new code cancels the old one, so always use the newest code. Request it only when you are ready to type it in. Request the code once. If it doesn't come, try another number.

Disposable Phone Number for SMS Code

01 / Single use

A Disposable Mobile Number for One Code

A disposable mobile number here is single-use by design. You name the app in the order, and the number then waits for one SMS from that app. Once the code arrives, the order is over and the number is closed. Nobody can order it after you, and your code stays private. It is on a real SIM and is never shown on a public page.

02 / Why

Why Apps Reject Shared Numbers

Many apps remember the numbers used to join them. A free number used for many sign-ups can look like spam. A disposable number has no such history with the app you name. So it often works when a free number doesn't.

05 / eSIM

Disposable Number vs Virtual SIM Card or eSIM

A virtual SIM card or an eSIM is a complete mobile plan without a plastic card. It gives you a number you keep for months, with calls, texts and web access, billed each month. That suits an extra number for everyday life. A disposable phone number exists for one code and is closed after that. Nothing gets installed on your phone, there is no setup in phone settings, and you don't pay for a plan you won't use.

Random Mobile Number Generator Receives SMS Online

Get a random mobile number that is online right now and receives real SMS. Set the country filter or keep "any", press the button and put the result in your app. The code will be on that number's page.

random_number()
Get random number
{{ rand.cc }}{{ rand.country }} · online {{ rand.number }}
01 / Logic

How the Tool Chooses a Number

Each press picks a random number from the free numbers that work at this moment. With "any", the pool covers all 150 countries. With a country set, it covers just that country. Numbers that no longer work are never picked, so the number can get an SMS now. Below the result you get Copy, which puts the number on your clipboard, and Open inbox, which takes you to its message page.

02 / US

US Mobile Number Generator

Set the country to the US, and the tool works as a US mobile number generator. You get a live American number, not an invented one. US numbers are popular, so many of them already have messages. If a US app sends nothing, press once more for a fresh pick. If US numbers don't work, try Canada.

03 / Decide

Random or Hand-Picked Number

Situation Better option {{ r.s }} {{ r.o }}

To choose yourself, go to the online mobile numbers page or an app page in the SMS activation service. There you can compare message counts and see which apps sent codes to each number. Go for a number with few messages and no codes from your app.

04 / Real vs fake

Random Number vs Made-Up Number

Some random number sites only produce numbers that look real. Those numbers are not in service or belong to someone else, so you never see the code. This tool picks only from real mobile numbers with a public inbox here. The app sends its SMS as it would to any phone, and the message shows up on the number's page.

05 / Troubleshoot

If No Code Comes

01Refresh the inbox page once more.
02Don't request a second code to the same number. Get a new random one.
03Change the country if several numbers in a row fail.
04When the app rejects every free number, buy a private disposable phone number.

Paid SMS platforms let you buy a number, send texts and pay per message. This API does none of that. It is read-only and covers the shared numbers already listed on Name. Use it to watch codes arrive, not to text your users.

OTP MCP Server for AI Agents

With this free OTP MCP server, your AI agent can use a public number in a sign-up form and then wait for the verification code. It is hosted, needs no key and uses Streamable HTTP.

hosted no key Streamable HTTP
01 / Why

Why an Agent Needs an OTP Server

An agent can fill in names, emails and passwords without help. The phone check is where it has to stop, because the one-time code goes to a phone it can't see. Once the server is attached, the agent picks its own number from the free list, sends the form and receives the code as a tool result. You don't have to copy the code for it.

In editors that take a JSON config, put in an entry like this:

VS Code expects servers as the outer key. Restart the app if the server is missing from its list. Other clients connect with the same URL.

03 / Flow

The wait_for_code Flow

wait_for_code is the main tool here. The agent passes it three things: the number it typed, a since time taken just before it pressed submit, and the service name of the app. The tool keeps the call going and replies with the first message from that app after that time.

This saves the agent from checking the inbox over and over. Each repeated check costs a tool call and tokens, and an early check often returns nothing. One blocking call replaces all of that.

A typical sequence:

{{ s.n }}{{ s.text }}

If the call returns empty, take a new number. Don't ask the app to resend.

When a code must stay private, buy a disposable phone number yourself.

How to Get a Telegram Code With a Free Number

Oct 2, 20264 min read

Telegram sends codes to numbers in almost every country, so a free public number usually works. The whole process takes about two minutes.

Before You Start

If a number already has a Telegram account, Telegram may send the code to that account instead of by SMS. Pick a number that got few Telegram SMS. On the SMS activation service page, open Telegram to see which numbers it texted recently.

Steps

{{ s.n }}{{ s.text }}

If No Code Comes

Wait two minutes, then refresh the inbox. If it is still empty, take another number rather than asking Telegram again. After two failed numbers, try another country or a private disposable phone number.

After You Sign Up

Anyone can later request a code to the same number. Open Settings, then Privacy and Security, and turn on Two-Step Verification with a password and a recovery email. Then the number alone isn't enough to sign in to your account.

Ready to try? Pick a fresh number. See Telegram numbers
