What is HeroSMS
HeroSMS is an SMS activation service that says it is built on the infrastructure of SMS-Activate, the market leader that shut down in December 2025. It lists 180+ countries and 700+ sites and apps, and reports adding over 500,000 numbers a day.
How it works and what it costs
A one-time number is issued for about 20 minutes. If no SMS arrives in that window, the money returns to your balance automatically. Prices on the homepage start from $0.0075 for some services, and a "Full rent" option is also listed. There are apps for iOS and Android plus an API for software.
Who it's for
HeroSMS suits former SMS-Activate users who want a familiar flow and API, and bulk buyers who can use its five-level loyalty discounts. The site states that registration success isn't guaranteed, and payment methods aren't listed on the homepage, so check those before topping up.
