"This Phone Number Cannot Be Used for Verification"
How to Fix It
Google shows this message when a number has been used for too many accounts, looks like VoIP, or is flagged for abuse. Other apps show their own versions: "number already in use", "number not supported", "invalid phone number".
What to do
- Cancel the order — the money goes back to your balance.
- Take a number from a different country, not just a different number: numbers from one country often come from the same pool.
- For strict apps, use non-VoIP or physical-SIM numbers.
- If you're on your own number, wait 24 hours — Google sometimes lifts the limit.

Why Google blocks numbers
Google limits how many accounts can be verified with one phone number. Numbers from SMS activation pools are used by many people, so popular countries hit that limit quickly. Google also checks the line type and refuses many VoIP numbers outright.
Other apps, same problem
WhatsApp says "this number is banned", Telegram says "phone number banned", Discord says "invalid phone number", and Tinder simply never sends the code. The cause is the same: the app doesn't trust this specific number. The fix is the same too — a fresh number from another country or a non-VoIP line.
When to wait instead
If it's your own personal number that Google refuses, wait 24 hours before trying again, or verify through a different Google service (for example, add the number later in account settings instead of during sign-up).
Questions about this topic
Does this error mean my account is banned?
No. It means Google won't accept that phone number for verification right now.
Will a number from the same country work?
Often not — numbers from one country tend to come from the same pool. Change the country.
Can I create a Gmail account without a phone number at all?
Sometimes Google skips the step. See create a Gmail account without your phone number.
