Turn On 2FA After Signing Up With a Temporary Number

A one-time number can go to someone else after your activation ends. If the account is protected only by SMS, the next owner could in theory recover it.

Right after sign-up

1. Telegram: set a cloud password.
2. WhatsApp: enable two-step verification with a PIN.
3. Instagram, Facebook, Google: use an authenticator app.
4. Add a recovery email.

Which 2FA method to choose

• Authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 2FAS) — best for accounts on temporary numbers.
• Cloud password / PIN — Telegram and WhatsApp.
• Backup codes — save them offline.
• SMS 2FA — avoid on temporary numbers.
